JLL Ventus 2 Air Resistance Rowing Machine Overview & Review
The JLL Ventus 2 Air Resistance Rowing Machine is a great machine for people who make it an integral part of their fitness routine. This particular product offers air compression resistance system as well as LCD monitor that enables you to navigate through the different programs present on it thereby providing you with a great method of exercising and toning your body without going to the gym.
Furthermore, the Ventus 2 Rower is equipped with a performance monitor that shows your time, count, pace and calories. This system simply requires you to attach the corresponding sensor to your leg, then connect the receiver to the computer module.
Once your Ventus 2 has been delivered you will need to assemble the machine before you row on it. This luckily is not too difficult thanks to the fact that the main part of the machine (Fly Wheel, Console, Tablet Holder) has already come assembled. The rest of the machine can be put together by one person, or if you want to make light work of it two. We managed to put ours together in 30 minutes with two of use so we think one person could manage it in 40 – 50 minutes. There was minimal tool requirements, just a medium Philips screw drives and a Alan key.
First impressions & Specs:
Once you have completed the assembly, make sure to take a look at the machine, run the seat up and down, lightly pull on the handle and adjust the display so it is just above eyeline. Above the console is a tablet holder, we like to make sure this is all set up first before we take the first row. You will notice that the Jll Ventus is pretty impressive when built and looks wise it matches higher priced alternatives such as the Concept 2. Once you are happy you have set up the rower to your standards it is wise to fill in the warranty card and keep the user manual safe.
We were lucky enough to be able to set up the rower and have our first session in short time, being a couple myself 6’2 and my partner 5’9 we were a little concerned that first, the rower may not be suitable for tall rowers and second, the adjustments between rows to accommodate the different heights might be timely. But we needn’t have worried, even though the Ventus comes in at 214 cm in length 30 cm shorter than the Concept 2 (which comes in at 244cm in Length) the Ventus 2 was fine for my height and should support heights up to 6’4. There also was little to do to make the machine fit us between rows apart from strapping the shoes in, its a simple as that strap in and row!
Overall looking at the specs, the look and feel, the ease in which we could fold up the Ventus when not in use you would not have thought that the Jll Ventus 2 was a relatively budget rowing machine when compared to the Concept 2 or similar as it has an a look and feel of a high end rower.
Below we take you through the various parts of the Jll Ventus 2 part by part to ensure you have a full review of the Rower to make your own mind up before purchasing.
Putting the Ventus 2 to the Test:
Once we assembled the rower, had a thorough look over to make sure everything is on order it was time to to put this rower to the test. As previously said I am 6’2 and my partner is 5’9,m so first was seeing how we both fitted on the JLL Ventus 2, the seat adjustment aside the set up was simple as strapping the feet in and pull back on handle and feel the belt driven flywheel purr.
The drive system being belt drive, combined with the 4 wheels in which the seat mounts Slideway / rail gives the motion of rowing a super fluid feel, and the backdraft from the flywheel is nice and cooling. Adjusting the resistance is simple, the controls on the display are intuitive, the display itself is perfectly positioned to allow you to keep an eye on your workout while watching something on your tablet. This all adds up to being an enjoyable machine to workout on, and the attention to making the motion smooth means that the JLL Ventus 2 about as silent as a rowing machine can be.
It has to be said that we are impressed and we are sure you will be for many years to come.
The JLL Ventus 2 Air Rower combines both air and magnetic resistance to give you a total body workout. This is the best air rower for beginners, and is especially suited for weight loss. There are 8 levels of quick magnetic resistance, so you can challenge yourself without risking injuries.
Unlike fully magnetic rowers, air rowers generate a higher amount of resistance making intense exercise possible while still keeping noise levels low. This means you can still watch TV or listen to music while getting in shape.
Display Style & Functions:
If you like to keep track of how long you’ve been exercising, or just like to see accurate information such as your pulse and calories burned, then you’ll be delighted with the large display screen on JLL Ventus 2 Air Rower. The large LCD screen will give you accurate readings of your stroke rate, distance, calories burned, time and pulse.
One of the downsides of the Ventus 2 when compared to say the concept 2 is the lack of integrated app support. This can be overcome by using apps that you can enter your workouts into, and the in built computer display offers a wide range of tracking for you.
Slideway / Rail:
The JLL Ventus 2 Air Rower provides a very smooth and fluid rowing motion. To achieve this it uses two wheels at the front, two wheels at the back of the seat which glide along rail/slideway. These are activated when you set up your rower to get it ready for use. This supplies not only whisper quiet operation of the JLL Ventus 2 but also the super smooth sliding motion that brings an extra dimension to workouts.
The JLL Ventus 2 is smooth, with 4 wheels enabling a easy glide on the rail, and the seat made from foam covered in soft PU leather. Also, all this comes together to produce an altogether comfortable rowing machine. The JLL Ventus 2 Air Rowing Machine is a lightweight rower, making it very easy to move from one place to another with minimal effort required. It has a weight capacity of about 280 pounds, and when placed on the rail tracks, it can resist up to 500 lbs. With the rower’s ease of mobility, you can take it along to the office and use if for your afternoon exercise routine.
The JLL Ventus 2 Air Rowing Machine is an updated version of JLL’s first rowing machine, the Ventus. The original Ventus used an air-coil as its resistance system, which many users found to be a bit clunky. JLL took this into consideration and revamped their design, implementing a belt-drive resistance system. This allows for a smooth, fluid stroke motion for the rower.
Being compact is one of the advantages of working out at home. But it does prove to be a disadvantage to conventional rowing machines. Because the JLL Ventus 2 air rower folds outwards like an accordion, allowing you to fold it upwards, putting in the pop pin and wheel it away when not in use. Plus, with its matte finish, wood-grain style side rails, and padded seat, you’ll look great during workouts too!
User Height Support:
The JLL Ventus 2 Air Rowing Machine user height support is that this is as the outside box says able to be adjusted to fit all heights with the seat and footrest being able to be moved in six different sets of holes, this really does mean no matter how tall you are there is an option for you.
Being a folding rowing machine that folds up on itself and locks into the folded position with a pop pin, with built in travel wheels to enable you to swiftly move it to your designated storage place. Because the JLL Ventus 2 Air Rowing Machine can be folded up and moved even if you only have one free hand to help out with this, makes it a great exercise machine for seniors who live in apartments.
The frame made of alloy steel, this makes for a light weight but robust frame build. The steel frame bolts into the frame of the flywheel and feet, this combines a solid x frame with the more fragile parts, taking the weight on the frame without any of the plastic taking any of the strain.
The seat is set on 4 roller wheels that grip the slideway/rail, this gives a tight fit meaning there is little give on the rail, making all the motion focused on the up and down motion producing a smooth comfortable row.
The handlebar is ergonomically formed to offer a solid but soft grip giving simple to grip handlebar. We have looked at how solid this grip is in terms of how long it will last and we are confident this handlebar will last as long as any other part of the rower.
The flywheel of the Ventus 2 is where this machine really comes into its own, using a nylon belt that is placed around the flywheel gives a powerful smooth motion. The use of belt driving the flywheel gives the whole mechanism a almost silent purr, with the flywheel offers air resistance as well as a nice cooling back draft of air as you row.
The foot plates are fully adjustable, with nylon straps buckling your feet in tightly ensuring you have a full range of motion without the worry of your feet coming loose. the footplates themselvesa are firm and hold fast no matter how hard or fast you row.
The Ventus 2 has inbuilt transport wheel that sit just under the footplates. These transport wheels are positioned to easily lean on when the rower is folded enabling you to pivot and pull the Ventus 2 into your storage area.
Compared to Similar Price Rowing Machines:
For a decent price, you can get your hands on a rower. This is a great piece of equipment to help you keep a healthy figure. Also, it helps people to stay fit and toned. So this little machine does more than just give you the opportunity to maintain your shape, it can help tone your body as well. That said, there are several different brands of rowing machines on the market which means finding the right one might take a little legwork. We did some research and found that the JLL Ventus 2 Air Rowing Machine was comparable with other brands like the Concept 2 and it was cheaper. So let’s look at these two and decide which one we think deserves your cash.
The JLL Ventus 2 Air Rowing Machine is one of the most popular air-rower machines on the market right now. The JLL Ventus 2 Air Rowing Machine is a budget friendly alternative to the Concept2 model D, which is often considered the industry standard when it comes to air rowers. I own both a Concept 2 as well as a JLL Ventus 2 and would like to offer my opinion on how they compare. The main difference between the two machines is that the Concept 2 is slightly longer than the Ventus 2 and an marginally higher build quality and has extra features such as a App.
Although the Concept 2 has been the standard in rowing machines for decades. The JLL Ventus 2 Air Rowing Machine looks to take that spot with a sleek, functional design and features like an overall counterweight, adjustable stride, and performance monitor with the biggest difference is the price.
There are many things to consider when you are looking for a new rower. You want to know if it is strong enough, flexible enough, and just all around good enough for your needs. The JLL Ventus 2 Air Rower is definitely one of the best in its price range, but is it the best? Let’s check out what we think.
JLL Ventus 2 Air Rower, after all we have talked about we now give our opinion on if you should buy the rower?
