DIY Modification 1:
To make the Kayak K2 more durable and able to slide it on rough ground you can add Skid Tape to the bottom. You need to add strips of Gorilla Tape to the bottom of the kayak. This way you can avoid punctures when pulling the boat out of the water on to gravel.

In my search for information about what you could do to enhance the comfort of the seat in an Intex Explorer K2 kayak, I found there was not a lot of good information out there that was specific to the seat of this model. This led me to try developing some kayak seat modifications.
I have had my Intex Explorer K2 kayak out on a few water excursions and one major trip. I would say it is pretty comfortable for the most part, but today I am going to show you some modifications that can be made to make the seat even more comfy.
At just over 6′ tall, I found the seat on my wife’s Intex Explorer K2 too short for me. I’m doing a lot of paddling in the summer heat, and was finding that this took its toll after awhile. The existing seat is hinged and has two flimsy overload panels on each side. The idea of putting on wooden blocks so that I can spread my legs more comfortably crossed my mind, but in practice there is nothing to hold such controls in place – they just slip out as soon as some water comes sloshing over the deck.
Inflatable Kayak Safety :
You are safe with the Kayak on lakes, rivers that do not flow to fast. Never us the Intex K2 in the sea or fast flowing rivers as the boat can puncture on rocks. When taking the boat out of the water be careful to lift it over rocks as although the Intex Vinyl is tough its not puncture proof.
When you have taken the K2 out of the water make sure you follow the instructions on how to store the kayak for a longer life.
